Master Board Structure

Master board should have the following seven columns pre-configured to have them automatically populated for each item based on item’s board & group belonging:

  1. Board Name – text column
    • Will be automatically populated with a name of the item’s parent (source) board
  2. Group Name – text column
    • Will be automatically populated with a name of the group where item is located on the parent (source) board
  3. Source Item Id – text column
    • Will be automatically populated with item’s ID from the parent (source) board
  4. Source Item URL – link column
    • Will be automatically populated with a link to the appropriate item on the parent (source) board
  5. Parent Item – text column
    • Will be automatically populated with a parent item name from the parent (source) board
  6. Parent Item URL – link column
    • Will be automatically populated with a link to the parent item from the parent (source) board
  7. Item Status – status column (Optional)
    • Should be configured only if ‘Mark’ option is established in the ‘Master Data by Mint’ board view
    • ‘Active’ status is set by default
    • ‘Deleted’ if an item (subitem) is deleted from the source board
    • ‘Archived’ if an item (subitem) is archived on the source board
    • ‘Moved’ if an item (subitem) is moved to another source board
    • Note: Once an item is moved to another board, it will be updated on the master board with a new link and parent board name. All further changes will not be reflected on the master board if the new source board is not integrated with the current master board.

Important!

  • Required columns should be named and have the same type applied exactly as it is specified above, otherwise you will not be able to save your configuration due to validation errors.
  • All other columns presented on the master board should be represented on the source board having the same name and type applied within two boards in order to be populated.

Edge Case

  • In order to eliminate double notification sending when an item is created on the master board having the People column populated, the following board configuration should be applied:
    • There is a rule that notification is sent to the person from the 1st People column, all other columns if there are more than one are not affected.
    • To eliminate double notifications sending, add two People columns on the master board – 1st should be left empty and hidden if needed, and 2nd should be used for mapping.

Source Board Structure

  • Columns on the source board should have the same name and type applied to be automatically matched to the columns from the master board.
  • Columns with different names but the same type can be mapped manually in ‘Master Data by Mint’ Board View.
